Why is water registration so important?

The subject of water is becomingly increasingly important. The world's population is growing quickly, and all these people want better welfare. This is causing an increase in the demand for clean drinking water: to drink, to make products and to irrigate. Competition is originating between people, animals, agriculture and nature. As a consequence the number of arid regions on the earth is increasing. In other places there is admittedly sufficient water present, but it is not always available or it is so dirty that it costs a great deal of money to purify. It will therefore be an enormous challenge to also supply sufficient clean drinking water in the coming decades.

The global agricultural and horticultural sector is at present responsible for 70% of water consumption. With clean water becoming scarcer there is the increasing risk that people or society will be critically putting this water consumption to question.
And rightly so. It is therefore important to be prepared, so both the sector and individual companies have an appropriate answer to any questions and negative publicity.

Which components of water registration are compulsory?

Since 1 January 2009 growers under glass have been bound to register their UO emissions data. In other words: the analysis data from water samples and the quantity of discharged/drainage water (code 22). Since 1 January 2011 it has already been compulsory to register irrigation usage (code 21) for MPS-ABC.

What must I do if I cannot register irrigation usage?

If you cannot establish irrigation usage you can inform the MPS Service & Support department (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). MPS will then look to see if there is a solution. If you do not have any meters, irrigation usage can be established by comparing the pump capacity with the number of operating hours.

I do not have a qualification, why can that be?

There can be different reasons for this. Check the following items:
- Have you registered 13 periods?
- Have you submitted a complete environmental cluster plan (for all your part registrations)
- Have you filled in the general information form for each part registration
- Have you successfully had the initial audit
- Have you paid your invoice?
- Do you have a sanction following an audit?

How do I convert my liquid fertilizers from kg to litres?

A density factor is shown on the packaging (often approximately 1.25). You divide the number of kilograms on the invoice by this factor; you then know how many litres your fertilizer amounts to.

How do I search for an agent in ACTRES?

At the top of your screen there is a green section with a white bar inside (search by code or description). Place your cursor in the white bar and type in a part of the name. This is the easiest way, so preferred over searching with the magnifier. If, for example, you are searching for 'Vertimec', search by Vert Then all options containing 'vert' will appear. Click on the right one and you can register it.

I cannot find a code in MPS-ACTRES, what must I do?

Ask for code from MPS to be able to register it. This is done by clicking on Request Code at top of the screen. It is important that you provide MPS with sufficient information such as a photo of the label of the agent. You can also mail the information to This email address is being protected from spambots. What is the easiest way to pay the invoice for MPS?

The automatic payment of your invoice is fast and efficient. There are two ways to do this:

Payment by automatic transfer
With an automatic transfer you authorise MPS to collect the invoice sum. Payment by automatic transfer is fast and efficient. The amount is automatically transferred. Obviously you can always have any amounts you disagree with reimbursed. You can fill in the form here.

Payment by direct debit
Another form of automatic payment is payment by direct debit. Here you pay the invoice sum through your auction account with FLORAHOLLAND. The advantage for you is that the payment automatically goes through your auction account. Everything is then automatically taken care of for you. Obviously you can always have any amounts you disagree with reimbursed.

Settlements through the auction account take place as follows: You receive an invoice from us for your own administration. MPS-ECAS directly collects the invoice sum through the auction. Obviously you will see the payment on your auction overview. Should you not be a supplier of a VBN auction it is obviously also possible to authorise a bank to make the payments or arrange automatic transfers.

Can I also register my data in another way?

There is also the option to register your data using the management information system through the EMB (electronic environmental message). The EMB ensures that MPS participants only have to enter the registration data in the management information system. With the EMB message the periodic data are then sent to MPS. Tip: ask for more information from your software supplier.
