Florimark GTP (Good Trade Practice)

What is Florimark GTP?
The Florimark GTP scheme is an important part of MPS-Florimark Trade. Florimark GTP sets requirements in the areas of freshness, initial checks, storage, stock management, distribution and traceability of purchased flowers and plants in the trading channel. These similar to the requirements set for Florimark TraceCert, but at a higher high level. Additional requirements apply in the case of Florimark GTP, relating to social aspects, the environment and collaboration in the chain.

Why Florimark GTP?
The Florimark TraceCert and GTP schemes distinguish themselves from other systems in that they are set up in accordance with the requirements, working methods and expectations of the floriculture sector. With Florimark GTP, you satisfy the following requirements, amongst others:

  • Traceability of the purchased products;
  • Specification of quality;
  • Distribution;
  • Delivery;
  • Transport;
  • Dealing with complaints;
  • Cooperation in the field of purchasing and information exchange;
  • Quality and environmental policy;
  • Staff policy (training, hygiene and safety).

Thanks to the specifications on the above mentioned matters, you gain insight into your company operations and gain a better hold on your business processes. Efficient work and clear tasks and responsibilities provide employees with greater motivation. Ultimately, this can result on cost-savings.

How do I introduce Florimark GTP?
Once you have registered for the Florimark GTP scheme, you start work on describing your business processes. Experience has taught us that many requirements in the certification standard are already integrated into your company operations, and that these therefore only need to be described. Once you have described all the required business processes, you should compare them with the requirements of Florimark GTP. There is a checklist available for this purpose. If you satisfy all the requirements, you can request an audit to be carried out by a certification organisation. An auditor will then come to your company to check whether you really satisfy all the requirements. If the audit goes well, you will receive the Florimark GTP certificate, and you will be entitled to use the appropriate emblem on your stationery and product packaging.
